This superb 19th Century antique French jug decanter would certainly add a touch of grandeur to a drinks tray!

It is made in pressed frosted glass and sits on a decorative gilded spelter base with 4 feet. The neck and spout have a spelter collar with a scrolled acanthus leaf handle. The collar has a pierced design with acanthus leaf and little flower detail. The lid is hinged and is also decorative.

The decanter will take a 75 cl bottle of wine. It is in good antique condition. There are one or two scratches to the glass (please see photos). The gilding on the spelter has mellowed with the passage of time.

The decanter measures :-  H 31 cm (12.2 inches)  x W 13.5 cm (5.3 inches) x D 13.5 cms (5.3 inches).
