B1919 - Sublime Antique French Religious Wax Bust / Statue Virgin Mary, The Madonna

This is a sublime antique French religious wax bust of  Mary, the Madonna dating from the early 1900's.  It is a very decorative piece and would make a stunning addition to a religious display.

Mary is very serene. Her head is turned and her eyes are closed. Her mantle  falls over her hair and shoulders and she holds her elegant hands in prayer. The creamy iridescent wax adds to the simplicity of the piece.

She sits upon a wooden plinth.

The bust on her plinth measures :- H 15 cm (5.9 inches) x W 11.25 cm (4.4 inches) x D 7 cm ( 2.75 inches).
