B2186 - Magnificent Antique French Religious Benitier, Virgin Mary & Jesus, Onyx Frame

This is a magnificent antique French bènitier dating from the early to mid 1900's. It is of superb quality and would be perfect for a special contemplative niche.

It has a beautiful green onyx frame with a gilded faux tie border. In the centre is a beautifully detailed cast metal panel bearing the image of the Virgin Mary & Baby Jesus. The panel is in a gunmetal hue against which the gilded halos of Mary & Jesus look stunning.

Beneath this panel is the Holy water stoup. It too is plated with a 2 tone effect. It has a hinged lid. 

The back of the bènitier is finished with a brass plate. There is a loop for hanging it on a wall.

The bènitier is in good antique condition. It is a substantial piece weighing nearly 3kg. It is of superb quality. 

The bènitier measures :- 38 cm (14.9 inches) high x 20 cm (7.8 inches) wide.
