B2192 - Superb Antique French Studded Leather Chest Box, Chocolate Box, FOUCHER Paris

This gorgeous antique French studded box would be perfect for all sorts of treasure from jewels to love letters and would look equally at home in a boudoir or on a gentleman's dressing stand. It dates from the 19th Century and would originally have been bought filled with chocolates from the famous chocolatier 'Foucher' of Paris. 

The box is made in wood. It is covered in embossed leather in a rich dark hue and is decorated with a myriad of metal studs.

The lid is domed and lifts up to reveal a floral cotton interior. There is a working lock and key.

The interior leather is gold embossed 'FOUCHER PARIS'.

The box is sturdy and in good antique condition.

It measures :- 20 cm (7.8 inches) wide x 11 cm (4.3 inches) deep x 12.5 cm (4.9 inches) high.
