This is a stunning vintage German printed linen wall hanging dating from the mid 20th Century. It depicts a fabulous medieval tapestry scene with castles and a myriad of people going about their business. The detail is amazing and the wall hanging really is a feast for the eyes.

The scene is printed in shades of red, gold, green and blue on a linen background. The incredible detail of the printing is further enhanced by many of the features being outlined with chain stitch in a metallic thread which gives the wall hanging a 3 dimensional quality.

The wall hanging is trimmed with a metallic passementerie. It is lined and has velvet tabs to take a pole.

It is in good vintage condition with a few minor characteristics of age (please see photos). There are some tiny areas of wear to the passementerie. The metallic thread has dulled with the passage of time. There is a water mark on the lining.

The hanging measures :- 138 cm (4 ft 6.3 inches) wide x 125.5 cm (4 ft 1.4 inches) high not including the tabs.
