This beautiful antique French gilded metal mount would originally have come from a mirror, a bed or an armoire and dates from the 1800's. It would look stunning over a doorway or as a centre piece on a curtain pelmet. Fixed above a bed it could form part of a ciel de lit from which to drape curtains.

It has a central shell crest from which a rose garland extends to either side. 

The detail in the casting of the metal is fabulous. The mount is of excellent quality with good weight. The gilding has a lovely atmospheric antique hue.

It has 4 holes to take pins for fixing and measures :- 35.5 cm (13.9 inches) wide x 7.75 cm (3 inches) high.

A gorgeous mount to add a château chic finishing touch and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
