B1862 - Beautiful Large Antique Religious Bisque Statue Holy Family, Jesus, Joseph, Mary

This is a beautiful large antique religious bisque statue of The Holy Family,  probably originating from Germany. It is very decorative and would make a stunning addition to a religious or vintage display.

Joseph and Mary stand behing their son. Joseph holds the Fleur De Lys and Mary holds Jesus's hand who, in turn, clasps his other hand to a gilded sacred burning heart.

Joseph and Mary are dressed in fabulous gowns in a stunning colour combination of  light lemon with a gorgeous turquoise to the folds and sashes. The gowns are festooned with beautiful delicate sprigs of turquoise flowers and leaves.

The family stands on a turquoise and lemon plinth also with floral decoration.

Gilding to the contours of the plinth and gowns completes this stunning piece.

The statue is in good antique condition. The bisque to the back has acquired a light overall patina over the years (please see photos).

The statue measures :-  29.5 cm (11.6 inches) high. The base is 19.75 cm (7.8 inches) wide x 8.75 cm (3.4 inches) deep.
