B2173 - Fabulous Large Vintage French Verdure Woven Tapestry Wall Hanging, Bucolic Scene

This is a fabulous large vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating around the mid 1900's. It has a bucolic waterside scene and is after an 18th Century verdure Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural vista with three magnificent trees and an architectural fountain to the foreground. In the background is a stunning château set against a backdrop of mountains. A beautiful river wends it's way through this wondrous scene.

All around is a profusion of lush vegetation. The colours are stunning shades of teal, green, brown and ochre.

Around this splendour is a sewn border with a scrolled acanthus leaf design.

The tapestry is woven in cotton and is in good vintage condition. It is lined and has metal fixtures on the back for hanging purposes. There is also a sewn pocket to take a pole. 

The tapestry measures :- 195 cm (6 ft 4.7 inches) wide x 163 cm (5 ft 4.1 inches ) high.

A fantastic large tapestry wall hanging to add an authentic château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
