B2174 - Large Vintage Religious Wood Triptyque, Altar, Icon, Virgin Mary, Jesus, Angels

This is a divine large vintage Italian triptyque altar. It is very decorative and architectural and would be a stunning addition to a contemplative niche.

It is made in gilded wood. The doors of the triptyque open on brass hinges to reveal an exquisite interior. The central panel features an image after Pierre Mignard's 'Virgin With Grapes' and to either side, on the interior of each door, is an angel, each playing a musical instrument - just lovely.

The colours and finish are very atmospheric.

The triptyque sits on a wooden base but also has a metal loop on the back for hanging on a wall.

When closed the triptyque measures :- 51 cm (20 inches) high x 33.4 cm (13.1 inches) wide . When fully open the triptyque measures :- 55.5 cm (21.8 inches) wide.

This is a fabulous religious piece to display and use and another divine antique  brocante find from La Belle Étoffe!
