This is a stunning printed linen wall hanging dating from the mid 20th Century. It depicts a fabulous medieval tapestry scene with castles and a myriad of people going about their business. The detail is amazing and the wall hanging really is a feast for the eyes.

The scene is printed in stunning shades of red, gold, green and blue on a linen background. The incredible detail of the printing is further enhanced by many of the features being outlined with chain stitch in a metallic thread which gives the wall hanging a 3 dimensional quality.

The wall hanging is trimmed with a metallic passementerie. It is lined and has velvet tabs to take a pole.

It is in good vintage condition with a few minor characteristics of age. There are some rust spots on the lining and some age spots at the top of the front (please see photos) which do not draw the eye. The metallic thread has dulled with the passage of time. We have shown a photo of the back with the lining lifted to show the chain stitch detail.

The hanging measures :- 142 cm (4 ft 7.9 inches) wide x 125.5 cm (4 ft 1.4 inches) high not including the tabs.
