B2182 - SET 20 Magnificent HUGE Antique French Gilded Chateau Curtain Rings, 19th C

This is a set of 20 of the most magnificent antique French curtain rings I have ever seen. They date from the 19th Century, are made of gilded metal and are huge and heavy. They would be fantastic for a large pole and heavy château curtain ensemble.

They have a stunning crest and an acanthus leaf embellishment that will sweep down over the top of the curtain when hung on a pole. These rings are meant to be sewn directly onto the curtain but a loop could be added to take a modern curtain hook.

The rings are all good and strong. The set weighs over 3 kg. The gilding on the metal has mellowed to an antique patina which oozes faded grandeur. One of the rings has a slight twist to it's crest (please see photos) but this does not affect it's useability.

Each ring including the embellishment measures 13.5 cm (5.3 inches) high x 3.75 cm (1.4 inches) wide.

The inside diameter of the curtain ring measures 5.75 cm (2.2 inches).
