B2187 - Superb Antique French Altar Cross / Crucifix On Base, Praying Angels, 19th Century

This is a superb antique French altar cross dating from the 19th Century. It is of a perfect size to sit on a bedside table or in a reflective niche.

The cross is beautifully fashioned in gilded spelter. To either side is a gorgeous winged angel kneeling in prayer.

The cross stands on a sturdy decorative round base.

The gilding has mellowed over the years to a dark old gold hue.

The cross measures :- 24.5 cm (9.6 inches) high x 7.25 cm (2.8 inches) diameter across the base.
