B2189 - Sublime Antique French Cotton Textile Boudoir Box, Sewing Box, Velvet Bow C1920

This is a sublime large antique French textile covered boudoir box dating from the 1920's. It would be perfect for gloves and scarves and would look superb stacked on a commode with others.

It is made in heavy card and is covered in the most gorgeous cotton fabric in stunning shades of purple and turquoise.

The lid is held shut with a beautiful silk velvet ribbon in a rich purply blue.

There are 3 hinged flaps inside the box and these and the interior of the lid are also covered with the stunning fabric. The base of the interior is lined with blue paper and the underside of the box is covered with light turquoise paper.

The box is in good antique condition. There is a little wear to the textile on the back edge and back right hand corner of the lid (please see photos).

The box measures :- W 37.5 cm (14.7 inches) x H 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) x D 29.5 cm (11.6 inches).
