This is a stunning large vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating mid 1900's. It is a feast for the eyes and would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch whether in a country house home or a modern apartment.

The scene is dominated by gorgeous trees. To the background is a magnificent château and a medieval village. A river wends through the scene to the foreground which is covered in a plethora of vegetation. Among the vegetation are birds, see the hoopoe, the pheasant and the kingfisher.  

Around this splendour is an integral border with a floral design.

The colours are atmospheric shades of ochre, brown and green with touches of blue and pink in the birds and flowers.

The tapestry is finely woven in cotton. It is of superb quality with amazing definition and detail. It is in very good vintage condition and has a crisp texture. It is lined and has a pocket at the back to take a pole.

The tapestry measures :- 194 cm (6 ft 10.6 inches) wide x 133 cm (4 ft 4.3 inches) high.
