B2198 - Spectacular Huge Vintage French Woven Tapestry Wall Hanging, 'Verdure Colverts'

This is a spectacular huge vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating around the mid 1900's. It has an idyllic verdure scene entitled 'Verdure Colverts' and is after an 18th Century Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural wooded vista with a château in the background. The trees are magnificent, the vegetation lush and plentiful. A river wends it's way through this glorious scene and two ducks form the central focal point. The colours are restful shades of teal, green and brown.

A sewn border with a beautiful floral design completes this wondrous scene.

The tapestry is of excellent quality and is in good vintage condition. It is finely woven in cotton and is thick and plumptious - it weighs nearly 7 kg. It is lined and has fixtures (one of which is missing) on the back for hanging purposes. 

The tapestry measures :- 245 cm (8 ft 0.4 inches) wide x 162 cm (5 ft 3.7 inches ) high.

A fantastic large tapestry wall hanging to add an authentic château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
